Populo Living ‘tops out’ London Road in Plaistow.

On a beautiful summer afternoon, Populo Living ‘topped out’ the London Road building – part of the Plaistow Hub. The scheme is being developed by Newham’s wholly owned housing company; Populo Living, and features two separate buildings on London Road, and opposite at Valletta Grove.The landmark development in Plaistow is providing 182 much needed homes and many new community facilities including a new library, neighbourhood centre, supermarket, gym, and café. The project is also helping to fund 112 affordable homes across Newham.
The Plaistow Hub was keen to share opportunities with the local community in the transformation of the area - with 18% of the workforce made up of Newham residents. The scheme has also provided 52 apprenticeships (across three construction sites), eight two-year T-level placements as well as taking on 25 work experience students.
The Hub is due to complete Summer 2023, is being constructed by Newham-based regeneration specialist Vistry Partnerships and is designed by Pitman Tozer architects.
