We are Newham’s housing company; we are tasked by Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz (OBE), and the Council to meet their priority to provide at least 50% genuinely affordable homes on development sites owned by the council. Newham Council are the landlord and freeholder of some of The Carpenters Estate.
Tibbalds led the multidisciplinary project team and was planning consultant for the project for the Tibbalds CampbellReith JV. Metropolitan Workshop and Proctor & Matthews Architects worked together on the masterplan. LDA Design is the landscape architect. make:good led on an extensive programme of local engagement. In addition, the team includes MEP engineering, energy, sustainability; environmental consultancy XCO2; economic development consultants PRD; CampbellReith advising on transport and EIA; and Plan A on design management, along with a range of other specialists. Mott MacDonald were cost consultants for Populo Living on the masterplan.
The Mayor has made a commitment to the residents of The Carpenters Estate that the council will work together with them, to restore the estate. As a consultative forum, The Carpenters Destination steering group uses the community’s feedback to input into key design and planning application milestones.
