Populo Living and West Ham United Foundation hold first Residents Sports Day on Carpenters Estate

Populo Living, in collaboration with the West Ham United Foundation, kicked off a free multi-sports day, welcoming residents of all ages and skill levels.The event saw a group of young residents participate in the inaugural sports day, basking in the sun at the Multi-use games area on the estate. Leading the session were coaches from the West Ham United Foundation, who not only guided participants through various activities but also provided valuable mentoring and coaching advice.
The day's activities spanned a variety of options, including dribbling drills, football tennis, footwork practice, and culminated with an engaging match between two teams and refreshments were provided at the end.
Lerato Marema, Community Wealth Building Delivery Manager, expressed: "With the school holidays in full swing, it’s great to have the West Ham United Foundation organise an initiative that resonated so well with young people on the Estate. We're excited about the potential of maintaining this partnership with the club's foundation to introduce even more engaging activities for the Carpenters community."
Ruben, a Coach from the West Ham United Foundation, reflected: "The session ran exceptionally well. The local kids were remarkable, displaying unwavering effort. It was refreshing to collaborate with a tightly-knit group of participants who worked cohesively together."
One of the participants, said: "I had a lot of fun and it was my first-time playing football with other girls."
